Although the history about Joan of Arc is interesting, the church is nothing special, very new (it has ok stained glass), inside it's not that worthy to see, however the square (Place du Vieux-Marche) has classic Rouen-style houses, so worthy to see. Interestingly, the church is build in with the market on the square.

This was beautiful to see first hand. Rouen will always be one of my favorite places that I have ever been too. The people were very friendly and such a beautiful place to visit.

the original church connected with st Joan of arc , whereupon Joan prayed is in ruins; a mere few stone rocks on the ground- foundations, and the new church beside it can be visited. there is a statue showing an angelic figure praying, and a wooden cross marking the spot where she died. the new church is a great master... I was very pleased to visit the beautiful Church of St. Joan of Arc. It has such peace and is in the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, there is a medieval hotel where people watched her being burned. The stained glass in the Church has such and interesting history and is quite breathtaking.

Have a look at the church of St. Joan of Arc as you stroll around the market square. It is an interesting building right next to the cross on the site of where Joan was burned at the stake.

Not at all what I envisioned. Modern and plain. Supposedly an upside down boat. Oh well, at least the garden was pretty - they should have left it all garden. The buildings in the square are nice and the market is nearby so not a waste if you make your way to this area.

This is supposed to represent ship-like structure. As a modern architecture, it is interesting to visit. That is, if you have ample time to wander around Rouen. If you don't have time, go to Rouen Cathedral, Ouen Cathedral, have a bite to eat, wander around the city.

We took Rick Steves advice and purchased the two-page explanatory sheet about the church, available at the front entrance (it was about $1.00), and there was a lot of information about the Vieux Marche, the church itself, and an interpretation of each of the lovely stained glass windows (from 1520 to 30, and fortunately saved before the bombing of the... The church of St. Joan of Arc was built on the market square right next to the cross on the site of where Joan was burned for heresy and witchcraft. It was built in 1976 but has 15th century stained glass windows. Very popular with tourists.
