Spectacular building with pleasant and helpful staff. It is free to visit the non-exhibition areas but you need to get a ticket from the ticket desk on the right as you enter. Lots of darker older style art but only one or two modern pieces...More
I was referred to this museum by the Tourism Office and wasn't disappointed. The entrance is free except for the Marcel Duchamp Exhibition. Little did I know that Monet's major works are here and so are other Impressionists. I was happy to see Delacroix's works...More
The museum is probably best know for its impressionist especially Monet, but use the time to look at other parts of the museum. What really caught my eye was "Democritus" by Diego Velázquez. A painting full of humour and warmth.
We visited Rouen on a Tuesday and found that like all National Museums in France, the Musee des Beaux- Arts was not open that day of the week, although free the rest of the week. This required another difficult city drive into a heavy construction...More
I would not describe myself as an art type person, but I really enjoyed walking the halls of this fine museum, as did my whole family. To do the place justice you probably need to plan the whole day in the place, we stayed for...More
Lots of good stuff, with outstanding impressionist collection. You forget just how lively and brisk it can be, not just pretty. There's a guy in a bar not unlike a Lautrec. Lots of ocean, boats. I didn't know a lot of Impressionists came from and/or...More

Although the museum is not as large as others, it is definitely worth your time. The entrance is free and sometimes they even host different events. The last time I was there, there was live performances of classical music and dance (quite entertaining). That was...More

I don't believe they have this painting in Rouen. There are only two Monet's (that I remember) both images of Notre Dame and they are both later works. I don't remember seeing this specific painting while I was there. I hope that helps!
