Although the museum is not as large as others, it is definitely worth your time. The entrance is free and sometimes they even host different events. The last time I was there, there was live performances of classical music and dance (quite entertaining). That was...More

Remarkably the entrance to this museum is completely free. For me the most interesting section was the collection of impressionist paintings which included many artists I had not previously encountered and paintings by Monet I had not previously seen n any form.

It is free, but that is not the most important fact. It contains art from the 15th to the 20th Century on two floors. You will find art by many of the famous artists of those centuries. Even with a map of the museum, I...More

The ground floor collection was interesting but there were few exhibits that really made me stop and look hard. There were a number of paintings that, despite their age, would not be classified as the work of ‘great masters’. However, upstairs was much more interesting....More

Great gallery. To see the art on show and to see the paintings 'live' is fantastic. Quiet and easy going. Great time: had to stop after 3 and a half hours - too much highly artistic culture to take in! Would love to return. 🙂

Some great modern and impressionist paintings, including a Monet of Rouen cathedral. And it's free to get in, like most of the museums we went to in Rouen.

Came to see the collection of French impressionists - fine pieces of Monet, Sisley, Renoir, Pissaro, Degas, definitely worth a visit.

If this museum had not been free to enter, we would have been disappointed. The focus of its two rather small floors is French with some Italian and Flemish painters thrown in. It does have a lovely public cafe inside the museum, and just outside...More

There are some good Dutch genre paintings, an impressive Caravaggio (Flagellation of Christ). The collection of Impressionist paintings is very impressive. There are a couple of lovely pictures by Sisley and several by Monet. I won't list all the gems but this place is well...More

Having been to some great museums this isn’t one of the great ones but it is very good. Any city would be proud to have it. It just isn’t in the league of some others. I enjoyed it. I went twice rather than burn my...More

I don't believe they have this painting in Rouen. There are only two Monet's (that I remember) both images of Notre Dame and they are both later works. I don't remember seeing this specific painting while I was there. I hope... More
