An odd attraction

A unique construction but a must see all the same. It does stand out on the landscape but we are glad we went to see it !

I passed this by several times. You can get a great shot of this on the bridge. I never went in but it is a unique looking architecture.

We did not go inside as it does not look like there is much internally. The architecture itself is quite intriguing and the sculpture on the side (a hand and water) is very nice.

Magnificent architecture. The work of the Brazilian Nyemeyer. The inside has been done up like new, one of the most beautiful libraries that I saw so far

The shape of the building looks strange. Like a previous comment I thought it at the beginning to be a chimney of a plant, although not as symmetric. I do not know what is the significance of using such structure. However, it holds a good historic value.

Le Volcan, the Maison de La Culture for Le Havre, is a spectacular monument to brutalist architecture. Some will love the bizarre sight of two volcanoes in the city centre, others will hate it and say even more bizarre things about them. The Le Volcan complex is currently closed but the dazzlingly bold white lumps sat in the very centre... More

Strange design when you look at it from the outside, looks like a big power plant chimney smack in the middle of the town. But looks can be deceiving. Once you go inside and you find out the history of the place, it is not too bad really.

The yogurt pot or coal fired power station cooling tower - smack bang in the middle of a lovely looking city. It is at odds with its surroundings. I thought it was part of a building site, maybe some sort of shield to hide what was really being built.
