Average beach

Was fairly popular as really hot on day we went. Nice breeze but plenty of space too. Could do with a bit more maintenance as fairly dirty, lots of sweet wrappers and crisp packets around which spoils it a bit.

No dogs allowed during summer months 😥🐾
Jul 2018 • Friends
Took a detour here to have lunch and go for a walk but there are signs everywhere saying no dogs. Think it is just for summer months but helps to know this in advance. Otherwise seems like an ok beach.

A place to take gone kids
Jun 2018 • Family
If you have a car, take advantage of the free parking, walk through the lovely park and end up at the beach.

As beaches go it’s nothing special but the walk to and from it makes it worth the visit.

I’m glad we walked there and the kids could have a decent run around and play.

Average Beach

I went for a run along this beach and could not see anything that was appealing about it. Lots of plastic debris littered most of the beach and the sand just did not look great. The water from the Seine must be suspect and the industry across the river at Le Havre must be detrimental to the water quality. Not attractive.

A good walk of 5000 plus paces!

Walk up from town via hotel Ferme st Simeon and on down through woods to the beach. Along the beach back towards harbour and lighthouse.
You get great views all year round of river, Le Havre port, passing ships and le Pont du Normandy.
After beach you can return to town through the Parc des Impressionnistes for a well earned drink on the harbour or even lunch!

Conveniently located to Honfleur centre
Jul 2017
We cycled the 10 or so minutes along a safe cycle path to this beach a couple of times. It is sandy and convenient and there's a beach cafe selling snacks, drinks and ice creams. It's not a very pretty beach but it's long and wide so you can avoid the crowds if you need to. Worth a visit but not the best for an all day beach experience.

better than reviewed here

watch the ships roll lazily in, and watch the ships roll lazily away, this is a sandy beach, suitable for kids, there is parking opposite a road that isn't as busy as its size suggests. We preferred this to Trouville

Ok but much better beaches nearby
Apr 2017 • Couples
We walked out along to the point in an effort to get excercise which achieved our intention. The walk is interesting in so far as you can watch the lock gates opening and closing allowing access to and from the Seine. As you walk out there you find well maintained gardens on the left that have busts of famous French figures in boat shaped hedge enclosures. The park is pleasant but really underused.

When you reach the sandy beach at the end compared to most French beaches it is scruffy and unkempt and resembles an English beach . There is a great view of the Pont de Normandie but also a view of the industrial port of Le Havre, not a pretty sight.
It is ok for a good stroll but if you want a great beach for swimming go along the coast a few miles to Trouville.

Great views from this beach
Nov 2016 • Couples
The beach is an immense emptiness of sand, with great views of the harbor of Le Havre.
Strolling up steam the river will give you views of the Pont de Nomandie.

Recommended for a nice walk. Easy parking connected to the beach by a pedestrian tunnel.

Large beach worth a visit
Aug 2016 • Couples
We were more impressed by this beach than we expected to be. We spent a few hours there on the fringe of the dunes people and boat watching, including the arrival of a cruise ship to Honfleur. Good view of the Ponte de Normandy and the other bridge in Le Harve from the promenade on the way there. Even the view of Le Harve was interesting as a contrast to Honfleur
