The gardens are beautiful. They are divided by a road and connected by a tunnel. The famous Lily pond and Bridge are on the side furthest from the house. The house itself is okay. I personally couldn't warm to it knowing that I'm looking at...More

I could have spent all day here. The gardens still felt peaceful even though it was crowded. The flowers were beautiful. The lily pond was more amazing than I was expecting. Walking through the house was interesting but my heart was outside.

Mid May was a great time to see a well maintained, living masterpiece. We visited during a river cruise, guided by a professional tour guide. Late May is a great time to find spring flowers blooming. Early in the day will mean cooler temperatures. After...More

One of my favorite artists, Monet's home and surroundings are spectacular in spring. The wisteria is in full bloom in April. As a US visitor, I highly suggest planning European trips a little off season for the best experience. The paths and house is small,...More

Monet's House and Gardens is well worth visiting. I recommend starting your day there when it opens, because the tour buses will continue to arrive and the crowds swell into the late morning and afternoon. Make sure to save time for the house, in order...More

Walking through the gardens at Monet's house lets you imagine that you're actually strolling through his paintings, surrounded by the reflections and colors so central to his work. Everything is perfectly tended and beautifully presented, and offers a wealth of photo opportunities. The house is...More

We arrived about mid-day on a Friday in June, having taken the train from Paris and rented bikes in Vernon. There were definitely a lot of crowds to move through once we got close to the attraction, and went through it. The gardens are pretty...More

Even for those who don't enjoy the impressionist works of Monet, visiting his house and gardens is a must. It is only a 45 minute train ride from Paris St-Lazare to Vernon-Giverny. From there, you can catch the shuttle bus on the right, outside the...More

The gardens open at 9:30, that's probably why there was a time. I would suggest getting there by opening, as the lines get longer. Also, go immediately to the pond area so that it will be less crowded and you can get better... More

My friend and I went to the gardens the second week in October 2016. We were surprised at how lovely the gardens were. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Allow plenty of time to wander and enjoy.
