As fans of Monet's painting style and as lovers of gardens , we wanted to see his home & pond in Giverny. We arranged our visit at our hotel desk. We had a small bus pick us up at the hotel for the ride up & back. The pond and the farmhouse were the focus of the visit. Beautiful pond... More

Such a serene experience. This beauty, art, and history behind this beautiful place is unbelievable. Bring a selfie stick if you have one :) and try the little crepe stand - yummy!

Giverny-Vernon is located 50 miles outside of Paris, you can reach there by train leaving from Gare Saint Lazare (Paris), first you have get a train ticket to Vernon. It is highly recommend to book the train and Giverny Monet´s Garden tickets in advance. The journey can take one hour and half at least depending on the train and the... More

My daughter and I went to these gardens a few years ago and they were stunning. You get to see the Lily pond with the bridge - the inspiration for his paintings. Also you can tour the house Monet lived in and see some of his early paintings. I would highly recommend the 1 hour train ride from Paris to... More

Sometimes when we actually see something that has been the subject of many superlatives over the years our expectations are so high that we can be a little underwhelmed. Such was not the case with Claude Monet's House and Garden. We were there in summer, however it was raining most of the day but this did not detract from the... More

We were lucky to have a sunny day for our visit, but the gardens and the house are always beautiful and worth the visit. The great variation of flowers, the romantic location of the waterlily garden with its small curved bridge, are definitely a source of inspiration and some young artists go there to make sketches and drawings. Finally the... More

Before visiting Monet's house and gardens in Giverny, I suggest you see his Water Lilies paintings displayed in Musee de l'Orangerie or in Musee d'Orsay first to really appreciate this place. The gardens are absolutely beautiful even during October!

Visited Monet's house and gardens, where he drew much inspiration from For many of his paintings, in September 2013. We took a tour through Cityrama for a day trip to Giverny. Well worth the visit. The Pond filled with lily pads also was framed in various different flowers and huge weeping willow trees. Very serene environment as you walk through this... More

Having visited Giverny several times in past travels in other months, we were going to pass on it this trip. Then I found out that a major art exhibit was being held at the Impressionist Museum of works by Sorolla. This is for me a MUST see artist. After visiting is home in Madrid and traveling several times to San... More

Giverny is so special, even more so in the rain. It was easy to imagine Monet sitting in his gardens being inspired by the nature around him. While the gardens change with the seasons, the house remains much as it was during his life time. The library is packed floor to ceiling with paintings; the bedroom has an old bedspread;... More
