Come and visit La Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg, a family attraction all about man’s adventures under the sea, and a must when you are in Normandy. You can spend the whole day here and go round “Titanic, return to Cherbourg”, an exhibition which has its like nowhere else in France. It is on the theme of the celebrated liner, but also on emigration. You will also be able to listen to the Captain of Le Redoutable telling you about his life on board the largest submarine open to the public in the world. Then you will gaze in awe at our 17 aquariums, including the magical, 11-metre-deep, Abyssal Aquarium.

This was an amazing visit - housed in the vast passenger terminals built in the 1930s for the transatlantic traffic which because of the war and then air travel, never really materialised. It's now full of the Bathyspheres and other submersables which in the last century have explored under the seas. There's a library for specialist research and much incidental... More

We visited this museum on October 19th. There is a free parking lot in front of the museum. The fee is significant, but you get a lot for the price. When you purchase your tickets, you get a paper were the times are indicated when you can visit the submarine and when you can start the virtual adventure “Walking into... More

This is a lovely place to visit and bring the whole family. There is a beautiful aquarium and there is also a submarine that you are able to walk through.

Epic attraction. The care and thought put into this entire museum/aquarium is so much that it just shows, beautiful, modern exhibits, lots of information and hours of fun. Only the "deep dive" attraction is a bit more dated.

I spent a full day visiting the different exhibitions here. They are well laid out/displayed and very informative. The submarine tour was fascinating. well worth the admission of only €18.

Really interesting museums consisting of three sections being the submarine, aquarium and Titanic museum. We got a voucher from the ports terminal for a 1.5 euro discount so our visit cost 16.5 and was worth every cent. We didn't have nearly enough time as we were on a cruise and only left about 2 hours for the whole visit. Give... More

When we first arrived, I was a little bit sceptical as to how much value the entrance fee would be. However, after passing through the barrier, our first stop was the aquarium. Wow, really nice seeing all the fish close up in a very deep tank. Several other tanks also to be explored as well, so a great start. From... More

It's OK but a bit on the pricey side. When you first walk in there are some interesting naval vessels. Then comes the €18 entrance fee, so I just walked out
