Unusual church.
Oct 2019
While this is a very damaged church with the exterior statues so broken up and the interior so very plain, the existing stained glass windows are beautiful. Two very different styles - traditional on the front of the church and more modern on the sides. Both are beautiful and worth stopping in to look at.

Interesting building
Jun 2018 • Couples
Lots of history associated with this building.
Built in 15th and 16th century so has many excellent features.
Look outside to see how much it is leaning.

Beautiful Concert, great accoustics! June 17, @ 4:30
May 2018 • Couples
Yes, this is a beautiful church to visit. Attend the concert if you can, Sun, Jun 17 will be violin cello, and their grand organ! The incredible classical music reverberates magically. Pay what you can and enjoy a very special cultural experience. Its all in French of course but the beautiful music speaks to all. Support their fund raising efforts as they rejuvinate this beautiful piece of history.

Striking exterior
Apr 2018 • Solo
Like many of the churches I recently visited in Caen, this church had a display of the church before WWII and information about the reconstruction. This has always been a striking church to pass by and now that I have seen photos of it squeezed by surrounding buildings, I will appreciate it even more. The information about the interior was also helpful to appreciate the paintings and statues.

Nicest church in Caen
Nov 2017 • Family
I loved this building. The light through the stained glass windows and the lantern tower were fantastic. lovelyon a sunny wintery day. Liked the relics of new saints Louis and Zelie Martin.plenty of opportunities to light candles which is always a good thing!

Spiritual
Sep 2017 • Couples
I'm not a church-goer, but a church-visitor, when traveling. And sometimes, beyond the architecture and murals, etc, there can happen a sort of spiritual experience. Like here. Especially when viewing the charred remains or the "re-crucified" Christ. The stupid nazis set fire to a wooden Jesus, and now it hangs there, the remains, that is, as a reminder...amazing world.

Terrific restoration.
Jul 2017 • Couples
You kind of think restoration is over in Caen and then you find this wonderful church. Take a look at some of the information panels outside and marvel at the resources still being deployed.

Great church with history and a twist.
Jul 2016 • Family
The portico is fantastically twisted due to soft ground during construction. The entry outside are askew and creates a sense that the tower is about to fall. Inside the German SS created a very poignant sculptural image by burning the cross with Jesus, (as they did in any church they came across), leaving a burnt torso hanging mid air on the wall, lit dramatically by a single spotlight in the dim light it is a very sad and visually unforgettable document of the war. I had the pleasure of working with a post war stone mason in Canada who restored the tower as a teenager after the war.

Another beautiful church in Caen that is worth a visit, a lot of restoration work being done but looks great both outside and inside . Church suffered badly during the battle of Normandy but still standing .
