The Memorial and museum in Caen is a touching tribute to the thousands who liberated France from the Germans. You can get a guided tour from here out to the cemetery and beaches. My favorite thing in France.

Sorry not sure about port. I took train from Paris, stops in Caen where the World War museum is. Then you travel on train to Bayeux where you take tour to visit Memorial and Beaches.
