Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

I really appreciated the amount of information provided throughout the museum. Granted , it was formatted for visitors to actually read the information rather than rely on video presentations but I found that refreshing. To learn, the visitor needs to commit time which, in my...More

There are plenty of museums about the Normandy invasion around this area. If you are in Bayeux, this museum is worth visiting. Small but comprehensive with good info in English and French

This is not a stuffy museum but has many displays and illustrations showing the people, actions and damage of the Normandy landings. Interestingly it included details of the Nazi command, tactics and soldiers. Examples of artillery and other vehicles can be seen. There is a...More

Lots of artifacts from the war era to see and read about. Worth the time to visit in our opinion. The movie is more of an overview of Battle of Normandy and does not concentrate on the US battles at Utah and Omaha beaches.

Museum has a lot of artifacts and some tanks surrounding the building. The museum is walkable from the cathedral in Bayeux. I would recommend to spend about an hour touring this museum.

The museum is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. If you've got a smartphone, the town (Bayeux)has a free wi-fi connection so you'll be able to use your Google maps to find. Easy as pie. Sorry for not getting back... More
