Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

The museum had more information than I had thought and is a must see. Outside there is a Sherman and M10 tank on display. The museum is not so large as to overwhelm you, and can be seen in 1 or 2 hours.

Nice museum, good video, lots of information. I liked the diorama that depicted the rubble that was left once the Allied forces took back France. It's hard to imagine what it was like and they did a nice display.

This is a fantastic museum about a 10-15 minutes walk from downtown Bayeux. It is well worth a visit. Has a number of tanks outside as well as exhibits and movies inside. We were really impressed with the museum. It has displays in both French...More

We had to speed through this in 45 minutes and so didn't get to see the film. But the museum was a little rambly and random. Lots of big equipment to see -- tanks, guns, trucks. We bought a combo ticket with the Tapestry museum,...More

Outstanding! The film was very good and the exhibits are amazing. The museum has a very rare Czech tank in the yard outside.

Nice museam. The cinema was worth watching. A great tip is to visit here first and purchase your Bayeaux Tapestry ticket as well to avoid the long queues at the BT.

This was great for folks that like WWII history. Several buildings make up the museum. Very nice display of relics and some videos running in separate rooms as well. Enjoyed it.

This museum presents a good overview of the landings. It also presents a thorough background of associated parts: resistance, reporters. Do recommend.

A flying visit to which I had hoped to spend more time. After visiting the Caen Memorial museum a few days earlier this covered the Normandy landings in more depth than the museum in Caen (which was also detailed). Quite a few exhibits and wartime...More

The museum is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. If you've got a smartphone, the town (Bayeux)has a free wi-fi connection so you'll be able to use your Google maps to find. Easy as pie. Sorry for not getting back... More
