A very pretty square and area. Filled with restaurants and shops. Make sure you look at all the tributaries that run around. The restaurants here are very busy in the evenings.

The area has a nice feel and some great shops to browse through. There are also a number of cafe and eating places that looked like they were worth a stop. I would say an hour with a coffee stop would be sufficient to enjoy...More

The Place aux Oignons is a quaint little place in the heart of Vieux Lille. It really came alive in an early morning visit

So it was pretty boring in spring, but my friend from Lille assured me it is amazing in summer. Use google maps to find.

This quaint square was important in the newly established town. Nearby are the converted weavers' houses. Note the extra large windows where the looms for making tapestries where brought in and out.

Was not sure what all the fuss was about. There were no artists on streets or lovely flowers. It was overrated.

This hidden place is amazing - just a typical French corner, with flowers, artists, great food, close to Les Merveilleux and to Bouddha (the painter's dog :) ). Enjoy!
