We traveled to Lille specifically to come to this church to give thanks - our Lille trip was a pilgrimage. The reason was that in this place, a very important prayer was prayed some years back, and that prayer was answered, providing a deep and...More

An impressive building with some beautiful stained glass windows. Otherwise, no real wow factor but worth the visit.

From the outside, this is a very nice church, and one of the few that is open at times other than mass. The interior is not as nice as the outside, but still worth a stroll around. There are modern stained glass windows, as well...More

This church has a nice original shape and is even better when you go inside and look at the purple stained glass. Some interesting modern art inside.

Went here late afternoon as our hotel was nearby. Worth a look but not the most spectacular of churches. Restoration work is ongoing at present.

St. Maurice is a beautiful church. It did not open until 11:00 so I had time to wander around the outside and see the details. It is very peaceful inside and there is lots of beautiful art. It is very easy to find too.

We were amazed this was not higher up on the top things to do in Lille. We thought it was so peaceful and lived the stained glass windows. It was not busy either. Definitely worth a visit.

Only takes about 20mins to walk around. There are a few little chapels within, each with their own style. Plenty of stained glass windows, plenty of chairs. Light a candle for 1euro Worth a visit! Free to enter

The construction of this (neo) Gothic church started at the end of the 14th century and was not completed until 1877 almost 500 years later. Walk around the building before entering it, as the exterior of the chapels at the rear of the church are...More

Dating back to the middle ages, with modifications through to the 19th century, this is a beautiful church. The architecture and the artwork are by any measure superior to the the city's Notre-Dame de la Treille cathedral. Look out for the plaque with the dedication...More

For those concerned by the beggars, remember that this is a Christian church, not a tourist attraction. It ministers to the poor and needy. Look out for the foodbank collecting box for supporting refugees. I write this as an atheist. The building is stunning. The...More
