The CWGC do a wonderful job in looking after the war graves and memorial. We visited as a family with 2 boys on our day trip to Dunkirk. It provided a peaceful yet solemn place to discuss the price paid in wars with our two...More

Set on the outskirts of Dunkirk, the Commonwealth War Graves are a lovely, peaceful setting. Victims of both wars are buried here, from several countries, and they are kept in magnificent surroundings.

Very well kept war graves and lots of information to read about who was buried there. Beautiful etched glass window of Dunkirk in monument.

An interesting cemetery that is worth the walk out of town to. The commonwealth graves in white stand out from the drab grey local graves which are surrounding.

I can't get over the enormity of this cemetery as well as all the beautiful gave stones. I didn't stay long and didn't dig in, but it seems like most of this is common folks, that is, this is not really a cemetery of those...More

As with all CWG sites this was well maintained. There are infact 2 seperate sites here The main one has a wonderful engraved window. However don't miss the smaller site as next to it is a Belgium site. The two together are very contrasting

Visited the graveyard with my brother. It had a lot of old graves. It's a place to checkout if you are a history person.

This memorial and cemetery is among my favorites. Created with honor and reverence, it is a reminder to never forget. Many buried or honored here have no name. Yet, their memory and sacrifice are honored just as reverently as those with full name, rank, and...More

Well worth going to to see and pay respects to the fallen. Also check out the WW1 memorial and headstones which is situated the other side of the WW2 memorial and I expect often forgotten but contains many of the dead from the Great War.

My French isn't good enough to read any small print that may be around but we visited several war cemetery's on this trip and nowhere did I see a sign indicating dogs weren't allowed.
