Capitol Aquare is a huge square with a metro stop nearby. The building is an example of the Neoclassical design popular in the 1700s.

you can visit freely (unless some officila business going on), look at the decoration on the windows; after that enter the building and go up to the first floor; paintings are everywhere; the stair is majestic... In the first room, the paintings are very realistic...More

The Capitole is full of symbols, on the facade and the inner reception rooms. You can enter the courtyard to see a statue of Henry IV and across it the entrance to the reception rooms with 19th century paintings. Recommended.

An impressive square in the centre of the city, it has changed a bit since I first visited as now the shabby, cheap Grand Balcon hotel is a smart, expensive swanky place! (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wouldn't recognise the place, as this was where he used...More

Sure, this is impressive, but many towns from this era have squares as impressive and nice. Black Africans usually hold their arts and crafts markets while you eat. I don't mind it, but I wish local artisans had a chance too to display their work.

Like much of Toulouse, this place promises much but delivers little. You can go into 2 or 3 rooms with some old paintings on the walls, but they are pretty mundane. Don't bother. In fact, give Toulouse a miss altogether if you have a choice,...More
