Nice tour in a small cave.

A nice lecture in a relatively small cave. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English and, of course, better French. Some wall paintings and geological formations. Wear... read more

It was an amazing experience though a bit tiring. There is a part of the cave that you visit on a boat and another one which are steps up and then down. Excellent guides explaining everything in different languages. Just breath taking!

A nice lecture in a relatively small cave. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English and, of course, better French. Some wall paintings and geological formations. Wear good hiking shoes. Cheap for the 45 minute tour. Try to park in front in the metered spots-- just 1 euro per hour is worth it. Then go eat lunch down the... More

More

This visit blew my mind, amazing to see that nature has created this over many many years. with a little boat and a walk you can see wat water does to stone. its a bit cold underground, so a sweater is a must needed item to take with you!

Was excited to see the cave and pre-historic paintings. We were told the tour was in French. We asked for and were given the printed English guide. We read the entire guide prior to our tour, but boy what a shame. Our guide did not ask if there were English speakers although I am sure she could see we had... More

The geological formations in the cave were very dramatiic and e well illuminated. Our only regret was no commentary in English. Otherwise good value

We went to this cave after failing to gain admittance to the more famous and extremely popular cave at Eyzies. We had some time between visiting Rocamadour and making our appointed time at the Gouffre de Padirac. Our guide was a charming and very knowledgable young woman, an art student, who told our small English-speaking group of five people all... More

Basically just the one large cave. Guided tour only and they took 1 hour to say what could have been said in 10 mins! interesting marks on wall said to be cave paintings. The guide spoke in French on one aspect for 10 mins and then said it in English for approx. 2 mins.

The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. She explained in both French and English how the cave formed, which was interesting. Tour was about an hour. Afterwards, we drove to the castle at the top of Rocamadour and walked down to the bottom of the town and then back up to the top.

If you are not fluent in French, you will have difficulties to enjoy the visit. The cave is really small, so during the 45 minutes visit the guide is talking a lot. The wall paintings are interesting but for some of them you need a lot of imagination to realise the supposed animals.
