The Pic du Jer, towering over the town, is recognizable by its large cross which is illuminated at night. You can get there by a hundred-year-old funicular railway which takes you to the summit at an altitude of 1000 metres in a few minutes; it's a charming trip. At the top, a gentle path takes you to the observatory, where you will discover a unique panoramic viewpoint offering a 360° view over Lourdes, Tarbes, Pau, the Argeles-Gazost valley and the summits of the Pyrenees.

Want to get away from the tourists in Lourdes the. This little green excursion is great. Beautiful view and a coffee place at the top. Super park walk and for the fit you can walk up or down the mountain or even do mountain biking.

This was a great experience as we went up the Pic De Jur. Moved up on the train was slow but sure and walking up to the peak was a sight to be remembered. The Pyrenees were a sight I will always remember

Took the railway up the mountain, which was uneventful. The views were magnificent. Walked the 5k's back down......SO boring, absolutely no views at all! Would definitely have been more fun on a mountain bike!

Great ride very much recommended though the ride itself is bit steep and frightening... the hike up the mountain is amazing and worth the effort. Amazing. I.e. she of the hills below and the city of Lourdes.

Only giving 4 stars as they need to sort out the queue system. Everybody was crushed together and a woman fainted. A simple rope system would solve this. Spectacular views for the top, bar, cafe and toilets available.

I most enjoyed the walk to the summit. Aside from the restful view at the top, the trail was lined with beautiful trees and plants, some of them with information labels. Friendly trail, too, as it zigzaged to the top. There are spots, however, that...More
