We're fans of cathedral / church tours. Frankly, we've probably seen too many spectacular churches this year to be very objective. Regretfully, our cathedral tours in Paris (including Notre Dame), Lerwick, Trondheim and Edinburgh all overshadowed the Cathedrale Saint-Etiennne. Nevertheless, we did find the stained...More

During our daytime visit there was a group of musicians playing woodwind and in the evening we listened to a concert by Toulouse orchestra which was very atmospheric beneath the double domes.

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful and peaceful cathedrals in France, despite being on a large square where the weekly market is held. We spent some time marvelling at the architecture and its impressive stance in the location which emanated a really peaceful, atmosphere.

Fabulous cathedral, beautiful stained glass, lovely ancient architecture si much to see inside and all around including the medicinal gardens and the Monks garden behind the cathedral down an old lane.

Peaceful, simple, not too "goldy" as so many catholic churches. At 6:15 every week day the el Camino Pilgers can join the church ceremony and get the blessings from the priest as well as the cathedral Stamp for their "creanciale"

Just the walk to visit this place is fantastic. Once inside just stand and take it all in. Photos do not do show the place as it really is. Cannot describe. You just have to see for yourselves.

In the center of the old town. Unusual step down to the church from the front and side streets. Nice stained glass behind the altar. Side courtyard is pretty. Garden in the back of the church.

This cathedral is a real must see in Cahors. The cloisters are well preserved, the chapels beautifully preserved with a fantastic spiritual atmosphere.

If you are going to do the Camino, this is a place you must visit. MKe sure you check out the cloisters which are to the right near the altar
