Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing market - vibrant and energetic. Voted #1 covered market in France in 2021.
If you love the sights, sounds and smells of a bustling market then this place has everything you might want.

A great historic market hall. Well worth a look around whilst it is in operation. Make sure that you get there to be able to lunch at one of the food stalls inside. We ate at Chez Bebelle which was excellent with theatre thrown in as wel!

Fabulous market. Friendly folks. Great food. Can’t go wrong with a visit here. We found a bistro-type food venue with great rosè made by the owner.

Located a couple of hundred meters from the town center and well signposted. We visited on a Sunday morning and were pleasantly surprised to find almost all of the stalls were open. Quite busy for a Sunday we thought but it wasn't too crowded. Masses of local produce to be found that wouldn't be in the supermarket.

This is a major market for the city and a good place to buyt food for home, or some light food for a picnic. The displays are pleasant, the workers are welcoming.

We stopped in here to see the building and also peruse the various booths. You can get everything from fresh fish, rabbit and chicken to vegetables, bread and desserts. there are also little food/deli counters where you can try typical local dishes and some small establishments even had tables or a bar to sit at for lunch and beverage. There was great energy and lots to see, and the historic building is richly decorated as well. There's a nice restroom (free; women's is downstairs just outside the entrance to the market). We enjoyed wandering and "grazing" our way through the booths.

Its a wonderful little fresh market.
Some of the stalls also serve light food, coffee & breakfast.
The market is next to the canal.
Walk across the bridge to the town centre to enjoy the old city.
The market closes at 2pm.

The French do markets oh so well. Fish, meat and patisserie all excellent. Good places for lunch and being able to find obscure items for the kitchen cupboard.

This huge market hall is impressive in size and in the classic iron and glass design. Lots of food and activity in side. Come early.

The market was closed when we there (in the afternoon), but from the outside it is a beautiful cast iron building standing on the side of the historic Roman canal.
Nearby is a monument to the dead of the First World War.
