This was better than place de comedie in my opinion. It's worth walking along to the aqueduct. Admire that statue. Exquisite work. Montpelier tourist office note... Don't let service vehicles park in front of the arch if you want tourists to photograph it. Beggars popping...More

If you are coming to Montpellier then you simply have to see this amazing Porte. If for no other reason that to see the other statues and aqueduct that is nearly. It also leads directly into the old centre of town.

The Porte du Peyrou is quite an architectural surprise in the otherwise sober city centre of Montpellier. Easy to find due to its shape and size and good for some pictures.

This is a very interesting monument by itself. It is flanked by many other interesting close by areas to include the old town, plazas, the food hall, restaraunts, etc. Highly recommend with a little bit of study before hand.

Very nice place to visit, especially because it's going on top of the city where you have a good size park where you can also have a panoramic view of the city.

Fascinating architechture at the gate to Montpellier down town. Neighbours the parc and the aquaducte also worth to visit.

Walking through the streets of Montpellier we glimpsed the Porte gleaming in the sun looking just like a miniature version of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Interesting monument in a lovely location.
