The opera is as opulent as the rest of the chateau. We attended an opera concert at the concert hall and it was mesmerizing. A truly memorable event.

The grandeur and opulence of the architecture and design is impressive. Paintings (including ceilings) and sculptures by masters of the period - like a visit to a gallery and museum in one. Recommend use of audio guide during tour.

Wasn't looking forward to this part of the day compared to other areas and it turned out to be one of my highlights. The attention to detail in the architecture and design are painfully beautiful.

This was one of our favorite things to see on our tour. It is simply amazing and beautiful. I can only imagine what it was like back then.

The Opera Royal, opened in 1640, is part of Louis XIV's astounding, over-the-top Palace of Versailles. It was recently lavishly and beautifully restored to its original and glorious state and re-opened about 5 years ago. The theatre is simply fabulous. The acoustics, even after 375...More

What an amazing building, created Just before the French Revolution which gives you an insight into the vast rift between working classes and the exuberant French royal family. We had a guide who perfectly narrated the whole tale of the Royal Opera whilst leading us...More
