The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Tour Eiffel / Invalides
With the Eiffel Tower at its core, the Invalides area of Paris is guaranteed to impress. Golden towers and Baron Haussmann's urban vision meet military precision, stretching avenues, and luscious lawns. The area boasts the Musée D’Orsay, the tomb of Napoleon, the National Parliament and UNESCO, as well as luxurious, exclusive residences. In fine restaurants and at the weekend markets, families, diplomats, and politicians brush shoulders with the tourists who come to see this postcard-perfect area for themselves.

Nice Landmark
Sep 2021 • Couples
Very nice architecture and massive structure. Walked a bit and took some photos. Good place to visit as it is near museums and other landmarks that one can check while walking the area.

Nice area
Oct 2019
Esplanade des Invalides is a rather large area, mostly green and good for stopping by for some quiet relaxation. It is located outside the Hotel des Invalides, the Army Museum area. We walked through this area on our way to the Museum.

Green and gold
Feb 2020
It is not one of the most famous in Paris, but it is a picturesque location from outside by the attractive wide green areas and golden dome and statues. It is close to Eiffel and there are attractions related to Napoleon for those who are interested.

Lush lawns
Feb 2020 • Friends
This green strip of land is 500 metres long and is clean and well manicured. We passed by this on our hop on hop off bus tour and was taking in the sites more so than the park areas.

Napoleon tomb impressive
Mar 2020 • Couples
I’m giving very good because it seems sacrilegious to do any less. But honestly military history is not my strong interest. We had a guide who shared amazing details and made it more interesting. Napoleon’s tomb is impressive.

Nice place for a picnic or to relax
Sep 2019 • Friends
I often come The Invalides with friends for a picnic during spring and even late summer. You can sit on the grass (there are not so many places like that in Paris) and feel very quiet even if there are a lot of cars crossing by.
Many people during the sunny days but the place is big enough to be far from the close neighbors.
Relax under the sun (do not forget your cream), take your portable speaker, and enjoy the beautiful view on the Invalides, the bridge Alexandre 3, the Grand Palais and the top of the Eiffel tower. Safe place to relax during an afternoon or an evening.

Huge lawn between the Seine and Invalides
Dec 2019
The Esplanade of Invalides is in fact a huge lawn, mostly grass with manicured bushes, that spreads from the most beautiful Alexander III bridge all the way to the Invalides military museum. There are no trees, probably not to obstruct magnificent Invalides views.
It's a perfect photo op of Invalides when approaching it from this direction.

Big grassy space

Yes- it is a big grassy space in front of Les Invalides. It’s nice. You can enjoy it too. It’s another of the amazing green areas of an amazing city.
