On Sundays this turns into a bird market, so after visiting Sainte Chapelle this was a very nice experience. It was all very colorful and cheerful. Be sure to visit. It felt like we were miles away from tourists.

Marche aux fleurs in the tiny island of Île de la Cité is a popular place on Paris where a gorgeous flower and garden market awaits you. This place had the biggest roses i have ever seen, the most beautiful collection of orchids that had...More

One of my wife's and my favorite place to visit when in Paris. Open every day, though not every shop at all times. Flowering plants everywhere, and charming merchants always willing to take the time to talk with you. You can get flowers, all kinds...More

Somewhere betweenSainte-Chapelle Chapeland Notre-Dame Cathédrale, lies Place Louis Lépine. The home of one of my most loved, most visited markets in Paris. Marché aux Fleurs. As the name suggests this market specialises in flowers, as well as a wide selection of other plants and all sorts of garden knick-knacks....More

The market is next to Notre Dame Paris, only weekend morning. Few shops with flowers, plans and birds with cages. We have picked up Florence dried lavender bags and savon de Marseille as gifts for friends.

If it's not out of your way, do pay the little flower market a visit... but even as a major flower fanatic, I won't be going out of my way to return. I think the idea of a little flower market on the Ile de...More

We visited it on Sunday, where it is also a bird market, and while at first we were excited to see and hear all those birds, it quickly became clear that money is well weighed over animal welfare. Way too many birds are crammed into...More

Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
