We came across a map for a walk in this area. It is a surprise to find small houses amongst the apartment blocks. There was a swimming pool, the houses, a fountain, and lots of lovely cafes. Allow about 1.5 hours to look around, accessible...More

Our hotel was in neighbor, we arrived last on a Saturday night and had dinner. Then in Sunday morning to our surprise, there was a HUGE street market, filled with vegetables, seafood, fresh pasta, flowers, etc and directly behind the street market was a even...More

Residential neighborhood in the 13th, used to be undiscovered, now gentrified. Some pleasant neighborhood cafes and restaurants. Some street art. But best of all are the many pleasant quiet streets to explore.

We were staying nearby here and took a walk to specifically look for and photograph street art. There were many great examples to be found by wandering streets in this area. Some interesting cafes and restaurants too. It had a feel of a village community...More

This is a small section in the otherwise unremarkable 13e which contains Chinatown with a lot of immigrants from China, India, Africa which gives a unique feel with downscale mom and pop stores - But Butte Aux Cailles is a genuinely French village and charming...More

My friends and family and I I stayed at Place d’Italie and were regular visitors to the Butte Aux Camille’s area, particularly in the evening as there are a lot of cafes and restaurants to choose from. There’s some lovely churches too and a nice...More

This little off the beaten path neighborhood used to be its own little village, before being swallowed by Paris proper. Cobblestone streets, hills, and colorful street art are featured among bars & restaurants. There is also a street market if you hit it at the...More

Interesting, colorful, mainly village-like ambience. Plenty of restaurants, some new and very top class, some of old charm. Wall murals and graffity, old houses. A water fountain from a good local spring at Place Verlaine where local people come and fill their water containers. To...More

This area retains many of the qualities of the village that it once was on the outskirts of the city. Distinctive architecture and association with the artistic life of the city make it a charming spot to stroll or to stop for a coffee or...More

Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a
forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses
Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian

around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses
onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not
far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly
imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve
