We visited late in the evening after sunset and had great views of the Paris skyline at night. Excellent view of the Eiffel Tower glittering on the hour, plus able to pick out most other Paris sites from the rooftop or enclosed observation deck. Plenty of people enjoying wine or champagne while they took in the view. Kids enjoyed the... More

I've taken groups to Paris many a time and the invariable question comes up "How do I get up the Eiffel Tower?" And my answer invariably always is, "Stuff the Eiffel Tower, unless you want to be in queue all day, go to Tour Montparnasse instead." Here's why: 1. The queue is almost non-existent! I've gone probably a dozen times... More

Bought a skip the line pass and waited no more than 5 mins. We went to the 59th floor were you get a great view of Paris. I suggest you go just before dusk so you get great pictures of Paris lit up. Going during the day is ok but your photos may be a little less clear depending on... More

We spent over 2 hours chilling out watching the sun go down over Paris. There's no-one hassling you to move on or buy things. It's just a perfect place. We'd got our Tesco Clubcard vouchers which were accepted without a blink. Perfect!

The views are nice since you get to see the Eiffel Tower from above, though not as great as we expected and we heard several people commenting the same when we were up there. Our main issue was the staff. We found the entire operation to be disorganized and unprofessional. I am in a wheelchair and am unable to walk.... More

Definitely consider the Montparnasse Tower in your holiday itinerary! You take the lift up 56 floors (in 38 seconds) and are treated to a view of Paris .The clearest sunny day was just right for this visit, as you could see for miles.

One of the biggest benefits of visiting here is that not only do you get outstanding views of Paris, you also get them with the Eiffel Tower in!!!! This makes it one of the most amazing places for photography of Paris, as well as a beautiful introduction to this outstanding city! I would very much say the Eiffel Tower is... More

This is one of the best places to see Paris from. You can pick out most of the other monuments and if your camera is half decent you can get good images from this vantage point

A very tall building in the middle of Paris. Did the day and night package, good to see Paris at sunset and then again in the morning. What's not to like! "Bof"!

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
