There some Spectacular Views all across Paris at The Pompidou. Also an excellent collection of Picasso and other modern artists. The Pompidou is a can't miss Paris Experience.

I didn't enjoy my visit to this museum. The galleries felt very separate and broken up. The floors are so separate, and I just didn't like the way some of the collections were displayed (and hodge podge of artists together). I thought this would be a high point, but I don't think I'd go back after this visit.

This building became a legend as soon as it opened in 1977, France's first international collaboration. It's a multicultural centre, which houses the Public Information Library, the largest museum for modern art in Europe; and a centre for music and acoustic research. It's a building to enjoy, with marvellous views from the top. I'd recommend it to anybody, but the... More

The City of Paris' extensive collection of modern art is housed in this modern museum, and it's a very impressive collection. Fabulous special expos are often held here. The art history library has an excellent reputation. I'm not particularly fond of the brash loo-at-me architecture, but it has transformed a neighborhood to a place where crowds come and linger. Views... More

We had a team dinner at the terrace of this place and it was a different experience. You can view Norte Dame on one side and Eiffel tower on the other. They have made a nice red tube escalator so it is easy to follow that and get to the top of this restaurant. But since this is open terrace... More

I'm not a art lover. Sorry, I did not understand and appreciate the art exhibits in there and found it boring. Queued in the cold 0-2 degrees for 20 minutes to clear security checks. Went in to buy the ticket. Thereafter, there are 6 exhibit rooms. Each exhibit is by different artist/theme. I spent a short time walking through quickly... More

The current Cy Twombly exhibition had brought me to Paris, and did not disappoint. The centre itself however felt like a shadow of its former, glorious self. Tatty paintwork, broken escalators, poor signage, and outrageously priced cafe (with paper cups and plastic cutlery) did nothing to entice us to spend the day exploring the many galleries as we had originally... If you love modern art, this will be very interesting. I am not really into art, but I liked most of the art in here.

I went with my sister on a Saturday afternoon, it was great! I forgot to pre-buy my tickets online as I usually do however there were two self service machines which was faster than waiting in line to purchase tickets. The exhibits were fantastic if you like modern art.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
