Have you heard of Arago Parisian Meridian? If you are interested in discovering one small secret of this city, also walking through interesting places and to look like a fool taking selfies with the Arago plaques...this is a good start. I read that sometimes they don´t allow people to enter to the observatory. In my opinion most of the things... More

We stumbled on this while walking towards the Catacombs. The gates are locked to the public, but it is worth looking in. Get a look at the sweeping second hand on the clock outside on the main building, and notice how it adjusts when it hits 12.

This is not an attraction in any sense of the word. You pass this on the way to the southern end of Jardin de Luxenbourg. You are not allowed entry and all you can see due to the high walls is the tip of the observatory. Not an attraction.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
