Stand Up Comedy Show in French by an American!

If you are a show advertising and catering to visitors, perhaps one shouldn't insult them? On a chilly, dark Paris night, the venue would only admit those who bought drinks at the bar. I did. The rest of the crowd was left standing on the sidewalk until 2 minutes before the show even though the theater was empty. The opening... More

As Sebastian's opening act, a French woman named Swan, was downright insulting towards Americans in the most tiresomely cliché way. If you thought you were coming here to hear comedic observations about the French from the point of view of an American in Paris, prepare instead for America-bashing. She began by saying her humor is subtle and any Americans in... More

Woody Allen is now up-to-date, funny and anti-depressant! Sebastian Marx is better than the drugs given by a pharmacist ! Let's go and have fun!

Amazingly drole and clever. Also liked very much the opening spectacle with an English guy who I don't remember the name. It was on the evening of the 27/09. I will definitely recommend it to all my friends as I couldn't stop laughing all along the show! (Also, there is nothing inappropriate for children, as read in one previous comment!... More

It's been a long time that wanted to go to see a stand up comedy show in English. I'm french and I love watching movies and soap operas etc in english. As my aunt was in town, and she doesn't ( she lives in nyc and doesn't speak french), I thought it was a great opportunity to take her out.... More

Overall, a great show by Sebastian and as part of a well-rounded trip to Paris. Even though I give Sebastian a "5" green circle review, I had one problem. "Adrian" who did the opening act on July 5 really got too graphic with the part of his routine involving a guy on the Metro who rubs up against another male...blah... More

I understand that comedians change their material from night to night. I can only assume that is why I found several reviews on this site that said Mr. Marx's presentation was fun and acceptable for the whole family. This was definitely NOT the case the night we visited (June 14, 2015.) We took our 15 year old granddaughter and would... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor. I am very sorry that you did not enjoy the opening act to my show and that you found the evening wasn't appropriate for your teenage granddaughter. If you had thought that my show was family friendly based on some Trip Advisor reviews, please understand that I... More

I laughed from the fist to the last second ! I saw the show in French and was impressed by Sebastian's knowledge of our language, and his amazingly funny and accurate observations of the French way of life ! Go and see the show, I promise you won't be disappointed !

Spot on Mr. Marx! Our Jaws were sore from laughing. Funny! Sarcastic! Witty! and very observant humor. We want to see Mr Marx again. The venue is very cute and cozy; as it is on a barge facing Notre Dame the charm if off the charts. The staff were warm, friendly and bilingual. Be sure to go 30 minutes before... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
