I love that this is a self-serve high end chocolate shop. You can pick up a box and fill it with what you like for a great value. All the dark chocolate was divine. I had a box for snacks on the plane ride home.

I found this place on a previous trip to Paris in the Latin Quarters and love it. We made sure we went back again for the Macarons. The salted caramel is incredible. My friend also loves the containers of caramel that are sold there. Such a variety and staff was helpful and friendly.

Georges Larnicol is by far my favorite chocolatier in Paris. While the Saint Germain is an excellent location for chocolate overall, Georges Larnicol remains less stuffy but better quality than many of its neighbors. In particular, I recommend buying chocolate by weight from the large bins, especially the many different pralines.

Just watch the best designs made with chocolate and enjoy them, chocolate is tasty but kind of expensive to buy a show made out of chocolate as you will not be able to eat it later on :)

There are four Maison Georges Larnicol chocolate shops around Paris; I visited the one on rue de Rivoli, in Le Marais. The caramels are fantastic, really rich and buttery. The solid dark chocolate was also very good; sometimes boutique chocolates can be disappointing, but this was super. The pastries in the window were marvelous; try the Cointreau-flavored one, and ask... More

We wandered in, after friends reccommended that the macarons in paris were unmatchable. The presentation of various chocolates, macarons (of many interesting flavors) and even some pastries made for a visit that challenged my willpower. It is a beautiful shop, and even if you don't have a shopping list, so pretty to see all of the goodies, beautifully displayed. These... More

We stopped in after our trip to Notre Dame. The chocolat work is unbelievable. We bought meringue covered in dark chocolat, but they had milk too, orange peels, and nougats...the lightest, best nougats ever. The streets around here are wonderful to wander and kids loved jumping into the little shops near by.

Bought some macarons for my family and was really happy with the quality. They are delicious and the cheapest I have seen in Paris! Bought a pack of 25 for 25 euros. Really good deal compared to Laduree and the other famous types.

I was walking down the boulevard of Saint Germain when I saw this nice place full of macarons. Firstly, I saw the box of 7 macaron which costs 7€. So I thought that Prices could be normal and I came in. If you don't take the box and you choose your own favorite macarons you pay 0,80€ for each one.... More

Georges Larnicol is one of the best choclatiers in France. He was recommended to us by a French chef and he was right! Definitely try the boules a jojo! They were delicious! There are several locations to choose from in Paris. This location was a 7 minute walk from our hotel.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
