Richard met us right on time at our hotel! Although the marathon was happening that day and our tour with Richard had to be reorganized due to streets being closed we did not miss a thing!! The entire tour was not only thoroughly informative but calm, relaxing, fun and easy! Richard is a great person who by the end of... More

We spent our first morning in Paris on a walking tour of the Marais with Richard. It was a great way to get to know our neighborhood through the eyes of a local. We had our 7 year old son in tow and Richard was so good keeping him involved and engaged in the tour. We picked up insider tips... More

Met Richard on Sunday as arranged and headed to the Flea Market at St. Ouen. I told Richard what I would be interested in and he knew right where to go. We also did a lot of chatting and getting to know each other. We had a great day of shopping and hope to be able to do it again... More

Our family did the Marias tour with Richard and absolutely loved it. Richard, as a long-time expat resident of Paris, has a unique perspective on Paris and a great many stories and anecdotes to share. We know le Marais fairly well and had been several times before (and stayed int he area) but Richard was able to show us some... More

South Of PIgalle - the 9th - is a fascinating district of Paris, and this was one of the best walking tours I've ever experienced. Be prepared to spend a bit of money in some of the eclectic shops along the way. Richard is a great guide.

We did the City Highlights Tour with Richard the first day and loved it. He was very knowledgeable and did not waste time. We got to see what we wanted to see and had a great lesson about each landmark. My favorite part was walking around Monmartre with a delicious crepe! The private tour with the driver was KEY! My... We had the tour of Montmartre on our arrival day to Paris. It was a great way to explore the area where we were staying, learn many tidbits, and keep moving to acclimate to the time change. Richard came highly recommended and surpassed the reviews! Next time we return, I hope to explore another part of this beautiful city with... More

Richard gave us a complete tour of Paris on a beautiful Sunday in February. I'm French and I know Paris very well but I wanted my American boyfriend's first visit of Paris to be memorable so I hired Richard And I was pleased to be taken around Paris like a VIP in the comfort of a private car with Richard's... I'm not that crazy about doing guided tours but my wife convinced me to do a Eye Prefer Paris Saint Germain tour. I'm so glad she did, because the tour was great. Richard was helpful, easy going, down-to-earth and it was more like walking around the city with a friend rather than a stuffy guide. We saw the fabulous Luxembourg... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
