Neighbourhood: Bercy / Nation
Nestled between the Seine, Bastille, and Père Lachaise lies a peaceful side of town where wide avenues and impressive buildings accompany green spaces and small parks. Landscaped havens are plentiful, from the Bercy Park to La Coulée Verte and most impressively the Bois de Vincennes, which even contains a medieval castle on its doorstep. For an escape from the masses head to this calming neighbourhood where real Parisians make their homes.

Cool little hideaway
Aug 2019
The aquarium is located in the basement of the Doree Palace, which in itself is worth a visit.
The aquarium has a somewhat oldschool unidirectional way of disseminating knowledge. The stories are mainly told using snippets of textbook excerts next to the tanks. The are very few interactive stands.
The texts are both in French and English.
The aquarium itself hosts a lot of smaller fish, including more than 50 types of ciclids. It has some catfish and rays in small, crowded tanks.
Average kids will become bored in less than 2 hours, there is a small water exhibit and a little indoor playground themed as water tubes. We liked the tranquility and the atmosphere of the aquarium.

The entrance fee is absolutely modest and there is a small cafe in the building as well.

Recommended for a shortish stop on a rainy day or on the way to/from the nearby zoo.

Aug 2019 • Family
We came here with teenagers to visit and enjoy both tropical and river aquariums and the albinos gators;). 16euros for 2 adults and 1 teenager ... it’s fair ! You can come also with kids... small but so well design ... bravo !
Worth 2 hours to pay a visit here for so colorful fishes

Beautiful little aquarium
May 2019 • Couples
The building is absolutely stunning and contains two exhibits; the aquarium and the museum of immigration history. My wife and I paid for just the aquarium - €5.50 each as we are EU citizens under 26. The building itself is absolutely beautiful and for the price I thought the aquarium was amazing. It is quite small, but you pay a fraction of the price of the other aquariums in Paris so it still feels like good value for money. The displays are all lovely; huge with plenty of space for the fish and a lovely vibrant collection. The albino alligators are especially worth the visit. The whole visit takes about 90 minutes but is definitely worth it. Would recommend!

A very cool spot for a rainy day or a family trip

The Tropical Aquarium is the kind of activity you don't immediately think of when you want to do something. Big mistake.

The wide variety of species is really incredible. The place is clean, well arranged.
The setting is remarkable too !

During weekends, it is quickly filled with a lot of families and kids. If you want more peace, you better plan your visit on working days. When it is calm, the Aquarium can be an excellent spot for a date :)

Nice building, small aquarium
Aug 2018 • Family
The aquarium is very small, but interesting. I wish admission covered both exhibits in the building. Seems very expensive to pay twice. The entire building is very impressive architecture.

Beautiful little aquarium
Aug 2018 • Couples
We visited in August during a holiday to Paris. We had been visiting the zoo earlier that day so decided to walk to this aquarium afterwards which took about 10/15 minutes. Both myself and my partner work in an aquarium back home in the UK so always love to visit other aquariums when we go on holiday. As young adults we got tickets for $5.50 each and for that price was definitely worth it. The aquarium is small (as all aquariums generally are) but has made a good use of space and has a good number of exhibits - for the price it was definitely value for money and we spent around an hour looking around. My partner especially admired the beautiful corals in the displays and it was fascinating to see the alligators too. The exhibits all seemed well cared for, well thought out and beautifully presented. Overall we really enjoyed the visit and would recommend it.

morning at the aqaurium
Aug 2018
This small aquarium is ideal for a short visit of a couple of hours. it has an interesting range of fish and two rare albino alligators.it does have a lift to the main building but not down to the actual aquarium so it is difficult for wheelchair users who can not get out of the chair and manage a few steps.and also for families with buggies.

Cruel
Feb 2018
Had a quick look on tripadvisor and thought it would be fine since all the reviews are very positive. How wrong!! So cruel. Tiny tanks for far too many fish. They look very stressed out and unhappy. Horrible experience heartbreaking ☹️ wish I hadn’t contributed to this poor facility!!

Ok if you’ve got a couple of hours to kill
Nov 2017 • Couples
This aquarium isn’t the biggest by no stretch of the imagination however it’s perfect for killing a couple of hours.
The exterior of the building is beautiful with the finest detail in the design. Upon entering the building you will head to the ticket desk where you will get the option of booking tickets for the aquarium or the museum. We just did the aquarium.
Once you’ve got your tickets you head downstairs to the fish world where you are greeted by a tank full of coral marine with colourful shrimps. For a medium sized aquarium they have a big variety in fish from tropical fish to live corals to eels to stingrays to crocodiles! The crocodiles are quite a cool addition to the exhibit as it’s not something you see everyday.

As I said it’s a good little aquarium if you have a couple of hours to spare and the weather outside isn’t that great. I probably would go back again in the future.

Really good & interesting
Aug 2017 • Family
Was happy to visit this morning the beautiful aquarium, one of the oldest in the world from 1931 with fish from all around the world, as well as understand better museum of immigration for France last 200 years. The building is very beautiful modern art. In addition real one of the cheapest museum. Enjoy !
