We stayed here during this visit and nevertheless the place is lively of course with lots of restaurants and bars and things to do I found this area a bit remote from the more attractive areas: Saint Germain or Marais. Needless to say we made...More

Montparnasse is the area we always try to stay when we visit Paris. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hot spots and this is exact what we like. We always stay at the Marriott Rive Gauche. The Montparnasse Cemetery is...More

The price at 18E is off putting but we went and we were very glad we did. We looked up the sunset time for Paris that night and set off in plenty of time to see it . The lift upto the 56th floor takes...More

Travelling by high speet d lift (56 floors in 36 seconds) you reach the viewing area. As you walk round you get great panoramic views of Paris and beyond. Less crowded than the Eifel Tower and a lot cheaper. The viewing floor has a snack...More

This was where it was at in the early 20th Century, especially the 1920s. Artists and cool people hung out here in the many cafes. Some lived in fantastic lofts that are now fancy apartments. The cafes are still here, some with very good food....More

We visited the tower and view at the end of 4 days in Paris. Access at the bottom of the tower could be more clearly sign posted, some perseverance needed. Very efficient lift to 56th floor followed by 2 flights of steps to outdoor viewing...More

Montparnasse is an absolute gem of a location in Paris. We have always stayed at the big five star properties closer to the Arc and Champs, but this was just wonderful. Very quaint neighborhood full of restaurants, bars and just everything you would need. Great...More

We decided to go around sunset which was the best decision. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy the views of the city. We stayed on the open deck the whole time which was pretty packed so plan wisely.
