Amazingly well designed and ornate!
Oct 2021 • Couples
This is a beautiful building designed by a youth architect with a fabulous sense of grandeur. Considering the relatively short time it took to build it is amazing ornate. Home of the Phantom of the Opera.

To me, one of the most surprising attractions in Paris
Oct 2021
If you have little time in Paris and aren't able to visit Versailles, the Palais Garnier is the next best thing - it was literally designed to be similar to the château de Versailles, and it's very impressive. Take the guided tour or at least the audioguide, you get to appreciate it even more.

Really beautiful opera house
Oct 2021
Although this wasn't in our plans, we basically stumbled across it and were so happy we did. The Opera house is quite lovely and I especially enjoyed the ceiling in the main theater. Nice gift shop, too.

Fabulous Opera House
Jul 2021
This is the 19th Century opera house, but now is the home of the ballet. Do come here for a performance to admire the show but also the spectacular interior design, complete with a Chagall ceiling. And liner during intermissions to watch the show of people parading on the spectacular staircase.

amazing building with great views of Paris street life
Sep 2021 • Friends
What an amazing experience and what a beautiful building! We bought tickets online but didn’t seem to be long line. Our family came here with our parents (who are mobile but slower moving) and keep in mind that there is an elevator to go up but stairs might be difficult climb for elderly (be sure to ask for elevator location). We didn’t find elevator for initial set of stairs but maybe we missed them. It’s a great experience and worth visit. Beautiful building with Chaggell paining in ceiling. Worth visit one of highlights of París trip

A “must see “ in Paris
Sep 2021 • Couples
We saw the exterior of the Palais Garnier on our tuktuk tour of Paris. It was recommended we tour the building. We purchased general admission and then the audio self guided tour. It was well worth the price of admission. The architecture is stunning, the venue itself full of history of the opulence of France under Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie. The audio tour is excellent, really helping you experience the detail of the structure as well as the history of the opera house, composers, and ballet.
The Metro stop is close by and the area felt safe and walkable.

Excellent place with a very unfair price politic.
Sep 2021
1. Palais Garnier is really impressive, but the price is too high.

2. Price for children is reduced (not so much - 10 euro versus 14 euro) but not free (in Paris museums and others places to see are often free for children).

3. I think it's unfair to get full price when there is a rehearsal in the auditorium and you can not see this place in full light. There is no information about it on the site. I'm not even sure if everybody can enter the auditorium during rehearsal because after a few minutes staff told our group to leave the auditorium.
