The Opera Bastille is very enjoyable. The opera house is very modern with comfortable seats and has excellent acoustics. Every seat in the house has good sight lines. The operas are closed captioned in both French and English. The location is directly above the metro,...More

A stark contrast to The Palais Garnier, but also very impressive. Good view from all seats. In the upper circles you should have no fear of heights. L’élixir d’amour was a wonderful performance and every respect.

The performances we've seen here were Ok. The theater seems to function well enough. But it's design is odd as there was a very strange-shaped site for the construction and the building was jammed into the space available. The result is not attractive or grand,...More

We were disappointed with this facility. It was hot and stuffy once everyone was seated and the performance began. We paid for top tiered seats, the view was great it was everything else that let us down. The seats were not that comfortable and the...More

An amazing performance of La Traviata was almost ruined by the continuous, cacophonous coughing of the audience. I have been going to the theatre for 30 years and never heard anything like it. I’m not sure if there were allergens or if Paris is on...More

Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards
