Place Vendôme is a symbol of luxury in France and was built on the orders of Louis XIV. The octagonal square which is a marvel of classical urban design became a showcase for luxury goods rather than political power. The famous Vendôme column is prominent in the middle of Place Vendôme which is established in 1810 by Napoleon Bonaparte to... More

Well there is a lot of history here, including the Ritz Hotel. And one can gaze at the displays in the jewelry store windows. But in my opinion the cityscape is cold and uninviting as it consists of only stone, and is also troubled by lots of traffic and parking. Don't go out of your way.

Must see in Paris. Famous Ritz hotel is there. All major luxury brands lining up the square. 2 steps from museums.

My hotel's restaurant contained the finesse of the five star Manhattan Soho Blue Grotto, complete with finger foods and full entrees, the works! There were couches however and a loungy style area for doing business work, suitable for my work trip, though I lounged more than worked each night spent in this fine dining arena. Les serveurs spoke both English... More

If you want to shop the ultra luxurious this is the spot. We were looking for a ring for my wife up to $10,000 and came up wanting. Anything of any value starts at $15,000-$20,000. Be sure to dress for the part because we were dressed in tourist clothes (hoodie and jeans) and their were stores that wouldn't even let... More

This nice square has some historical significance as it was designed in 1702 to glorify the armies of Louis XIV. It is now surrounded by upscale shops which seems appropriate for Louis XIV. It is a nice area to wander and window shop.

Love to go back and stay at this ritz sometime. The plaza was hidden and quiet and gorgeous...love more time to dawdle into each store but teenage boys in tow .. was not feeling it. Close to honore area and the louvre and gardens which is the appeal..center of it all but worlds away it seemed.
