I’m excited to have an Ami du Louvre subscription!
I adore this museum. The building itself is gorgeous, both outside and inside.Keep looking up and around the art.Enjoy the decorated ceilings! I went to Paris in October, from Australia and I will go again in June. For me it was worthwhile to buy an Ami du Louvre subscription. It now costs 80 euros for one adult.I recall paying less in October 2022.You can go as many times as you like, in and out during the day and there is a special entry with no queue!! I visited 3 times in October and I plan at least 2 visits in June. I have been many times over the years and never tire of it. There is so much to see.My favourites are the covered sculpture courtyards, the Galerie d’Apollon , the fine arts section and the Napoleon appartments. Yes, it’s crowded and can be overwhelming but you will enjoy it more if you work out what you want to see and arrive with a plan.
S1245SHsueh, thank you very much for your enthusiastic feedback! See you soon at the Louvre.

    Wonderful staff
This is a review of the museum itself. Amazing staff. Super friendly and competent. Wonderful people from the outside all the way in. Everything is clearly marked and there are great facilities. A massive cloakroom with lockers where you can store your jacket and stuff for free. A Paul coffee shop on site. Huge information desk. Maps available everywhere. Staff to be found throughout the museum to help you find your way. Kids and students don’t pay! The floors are not just beautiful but also very comfortable to walk on. Even if you are not very much into art, coming to this museum just to see it, is worth it.
P B, thank you for your review. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your day to the Louvre.

Louvre is the most important museum and must be visiting periodically.
I have visited this museum at least 30 times. Each visit seams to be different, periodically they make new arrangements. This time they take the impressionists away by giving to Orsay museum. Louvre is the most important museum and must be visiting periodically.

    Never disappoints
We organized a small private tour and loved every moment. I'd highly recommend booking a tour if you can as there's just too much to see otherwise. We met upstairs near the pyramid and began the tour way below ground, fascinating stuff.

    Summer Treat
Do not go in the Summer Holidays, It was too crowded, you just got herded along and tho I didn't want to see THE MONA LISA I just got shoved along with the hoard and it was difficult to get off the human train. The Garden around the Louvre are spectacular and there was space to sit and enjoy lunch. I will definately b back, just not in the summer..x

    what a museum!
lovely experience! Probably one of the most well-known places to visit in Paris, it is the diamond of France. Thousands are drawn to the beauty of this place every year and leave knowing that there is nowhere else like it.

    Inspiring
I'm not an avid art lover but this is a must see museum. Spectacular rooms and architecture as well as of course the famous pieces. We were lucky it wasn't too busy when we went midweek layer on in the day. Cheapest to buy tickets inside the museum (€15). Good also for a rainy day in Paris!

    Go with a plan
I enjoyed my visit but found the amount of artefacts and information on offer to be somewhat overwhelming. I decided to concentrate solely on what I wanted to see and really enjoyed the day. It’s so fantastic how big the collection is but it would take a number of visits to fully appreciate everything they have. Staff here are amazing, extremely friendly and helpful. Seeing some artworks in person you have only read about or seen in pictures is quite a moving experience. We were lucky and didn’t have much problem at all seeing the Mona Lisa or Venus de Milo. I’ll definitely revisit to see some of the other treasures this beautiful building holds.
Climber19349839345, we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit! See you soon at the Louvre

    beautiful Art
Our family of 6 visited this beautiful Museum on March 3, 2023. This place is huge we spent half a day here and maybe only saw a quarter of the Museum. The man focus was to see the Monalisa Portrait. I was amazed at how small in comparison to all the other paintings displayed on all the walls. Beautiful art not just the paintings also the sculptures. The best talented Artist Must See

Wonderful experience, seeing some fabulous masterpieces
A wonderful experience visiting the Museum. We took advice and went early in the morning and avoided any potential queueing or crowds. It is a huge Museum and impossible to see everything in one trip. We headed towards the Paintings section, where the Mona Lisa was displayed, and was not disappointed, and whilst there I really enjoyed taking in and appreciating some of the classic paintings and masterpieces, some were huge in size and displayed in fabulous ornate rooms. The sculpture section, where we saw the Venus de Milo, is also worth a visit, as is the old walled area of the bastille. It was a great 1/2 day out, and even the cafes served good food and drink.

Firstly book a time slot as early as you can, possibly before you’ve even travelled to Paris.
Once in the Louvre, it is MASSIVE!
You can spend hours walking round looking at the vast amount of art and sculptures.
Great for singles and couples, not too sure about taking younger children in, they might get bored.
We saw the Mona Lisa within 10 minutes of entering and the Venus de Milo.
I loved it

Nestled along the Seine River in Paris, the Louvre Museum is a pinnacle of artistic and cultural significance. Its vast collection invites visitors to explore humanity's rich history and creativity. The allure of the Mona Lisa's enigmatic smile captivates amidst the bustling crowds. However, navigating the museum's extensive halls, with over 380,000 objects, can be overwhelming despite available maps. Yet, the architectural grandeur, from the iconic glass pyramid to historic wings, elevates the experience. In conclusion, the Louvre's treasures, from the Mona Lisa to its architectural marvels, make it a must-visit destination, leaving a lasting impact on all who wander its halls.

Purchase tickets online in advance to avoid long queues, especially during peak season. Choose specific sections or artists you'd like to see, and utilize the museum's maps and audio guides for navigation and insights.

Impressive architecture of the palace itself, a testament to French grandeur. Enjoy some of the world's most iconic and recognizable masterpieces from the enigmatic Mona Lisa to the majestic Venus de Milo.

Explore Egyptian mummies, marvel at ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, or get lost in the exquisite collections of paintings from various European schools.

Oh wow what an amazing place, I was absolutely blown away with the size of the museum. You definitely need more than one afternoon to see everything.

We discovered on TikTok to avoid the queues to go through the carousel to enter into the museum.

We were pleased to see the Mona Lisa but the only negative was the queuing system to get a photo taken in front of it, it’s all for one and one for all; and it felt like you were a herd cattle.

When in Paris you obviously have to go to The Louvre! It's absolutely breathtaking. I love the musicians playing in the entryway. The art is incredible, and the exterior is every architectural nerds dream (mine anyway)! The Mona Lisa is beautiful but honestly underwhelming to wait for if you have to wait long.

It's true what they say: you'd need multiple days here to see everything. We only spent a few hours at the Louvre and we're glad that we booked in advance or we would have been queuing for tickets all day. It was cool to see the Mona Lisa but my partner preferred the Venus de Milo and I was taken by all of the Ancient Egyptian stuff.

Amazing place, holding some of the best art we know off, but man, you need a degree in map reading to work it all out.

It's easy to find the main stuff, Mona Lisa etc, as you just follow the masses or the random pictures with arrows. If you want anything else, it's a task to work your way throught the expanse of corridors, rooms etc to where you want to get.

Book your tickets up front, as the queues are enormous, and you can only take very small bags in, so no large rucksacks.
