We'd been struggling to find anywhere open and with a tour in English (the champagne houses in the area had all switched to low season the week before we went so quite a few were closed at weekends). So we were delighted to find this place open. Actually we'd just missed the last tour of the day in English, so... More

We came here after a visit to Veuve and loved it! The tasting room is very Victorian and charming. There was a VIP tour earlier in the day, and as a result we got to try a few very special bottles that were opened. The Blanc de Blancs was out of this world and one of the best champagnes we've... We visited Martel, Taittinger and Veuve Cliquot on our tour in Reims. GH Martel was our least favorite. This is a small champagne house in comparison to the others in the area, and we did not enjoy the tastings as must as the other houses.

As part of a visit to Reims and to several champagnes houses in the area, we visited Martel’s old processing area in Reims - if visiting Martel you can only visit this building/cave, as their ‘new’ processing plant in Epernay does not do tours. The tour was really interesting and very informative, and we got a chance to see some... More

Booked over Internet an English tour with Martel house. They responded quickly with info needed and was set. We arrived to the lovely house ( took taxi from Reims cathedral for less than 10 euro) and Emmanuel was waiting for us, after a small informative video and a very interesting chat and tour of the old caves we got 3... Our schedule in Reims was a bit behind due to there being no taxi's at the train station so unfortunately we were only able to make the Tattinger tour and missed our tour reservation for G.H. Martel. They were so accommodating when we arrived and offered to still do the tasting if we had time and of course we did!!... More

We were very lucky to arrive 15 minutes before the only English language tour of the day, so worth a quick check for timings. This is now just a tourist site, and none the worst for it, it is where the caves were before they modernised in the 1970s. Lovely little tour with an honest film showing the modern manufacturing... As the production is not local this is a good introduction into the champagne process. Emmanuel was knowledgable and very friendly. The price for a tasting was a bargain at €22 for the premier cru, vintage and aged rose. After trying a few of the €14 tour wines there is a big difference and we feel the €22 was a... More

We visited Martel yesterday. For €14,- you get a film, tour and tasting of 3 glasses of Champaign. My husband took the premier tasting for €22,- but we both agreed that the regular tasting was better :) Martel is not in business anymore in Reims, but is in Epernay. The Tour guide was a young man who was very friendly.... More

We stopped at Martel to have a quick look, the salesperson was so kind to explain the offerings and a bit of history. Very glad we stopped at Martel.
