We took the opportunity to pay a visit to Saint-Malo during our holiday in Bretagne. All was perfect: ocean view over the city walls, medieval city with the ancient buildings and tiny streets, food, harbor, you name it.

This is the house of a wealthy shipping merchant of the 18th century within the old city walls at Saint-Malo. Our guide gave a lucid, interesting explanation (in French) of shipping in that era and how it contributed to the building of the city.

Fine if you speak a lot more than school boy french as no doubt the guide provided a witty and lengthy repartee. All last on me. A written guided tour would have been just as easy. Not much to see otherwise as hardly any furniture...More

This is a delightful home which is steeped in the sea lore history of Saint Malo. Outstanding decor and period furnishings in a town house / mini Chateau from the days of the fishermen, raiders, Pirates and traders of little St. Malo... Enjoy...
