Wonderful worth a visit!!
Aug 2020 • Family
This maritime museum is excellent and the measures taken for corona actually heightens as you’re constantly guided in the direction of the tour and plenty of space.

Good for the Family and History Buffs

Very cool museum to visit, that spans quite a bit of history. Not too hard for the kids to walk, and just a nice afternoon event.

So small

There is nothing special. I regret to go there. Souvenirs there were so expensive that I only bought one postcard.

Good way to spend a couple hours
Sep 2019
Located in the old Brest Castle (fortress), this is a great way to spend a couple of hours. The exhibits are spread out among the castle wall and rooms making a good visit a double treat if you enjoy the old architecture. There is a lot of steps and up/down required so it's not really accessible if you need that. We found the history of the french fleet here to be very interesting.

Interesting couple of hours
Aug 2019 • Couples
I enjoyed this visit. The handset gave lots of interesting information in English, amongst other languages. The building itself was impressive too.

If you are hoping to find an indoors activity on a wet day, just be aware that the tour took you in and out regularly so we got drenched a few times!

Impressive Fort
Jul 2019
If you get a chance to visit Brest then you need to take a look at this impressive fort too. Depending on how much time you are willing to spend listening to the audio guide (worth getting), I think between 1 to 2 hours should be enough for this visit.

My family enjoyed it very much and took many pictures! There are some nice models/exhibits with explanations on the audio guide. Well worth it!

interesting history of brest
Jun 2019 • Friends
Worth an hour or two walking the ramparts and dipping into the museum bits inside - particularly the interesting models and the fabulous carved wooden figureheads, Some of the video exhibits about the war were very informative and interesting to see the pocket submarine.
Lovely views from the ramparts.
