The Whitworth is a 'Marmite' museum, you either love it or hate it. Very much on the lines of the Tate Modern. The staff were friendly.

We came to see the "Bound Art Book Fair" which we enjoyed. We then went on to visit the rest of the gallery which was very interesting and very diverse in its exhibits. Everything from Dutch Masters to Modernism, also photography.

Art galleries and their contents tend to be quite subjective, but the restaurant in the park attached to the gallery is lovely. The food is reasonably priced and refreshingly different with friendly staff. The views across the park are charming and well worth a visit.

Well I guess I am not into the type of artwork that was on display. Contemporary without any theme in my view. Just did not enjoy it.

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
