Closed on a weekday

They run a lot of services here especially on a Sunday and is a very nice building but was closed during the week even though there were lights on.

We were surprised by the large number of people who were visiting the cathedral so it is clearly a popular attraction. We were greeted by a friendly, helpful guide who also handed us a printed leaflet about the building. This cathedral does not seem to be as cluttered as some cathedrals are with tombs, memorials etc to former bishops, worthies... More

The Cathedral is worth visiting if you want a full experience of Manchester, it has an interesting history including a rebuild because of extensive bombing during the Second World War. Architecturally stunning, and there are guides on hand who are friendly and willing to give you more information. There is no entry fee and guide booklets are provided when you... More

This was one of the main reasons we stopped in Manchester. This cathedral is absolutely beautiful. They were doing renovations while we were there, but still saw quite a bit of the church. Simply beautiful.

Enjoyed the lent mass this evening while visiting salford for work. The choir sang beautifully and the cathedral is stunning.

The architecture of this building is amazing, the area is close to food and drink outlets, inside is traditional although it's a must see for any religious denomination

This is the Cathedral for the Catholic Diocese of Salford, which includes much of Greater Manchester, north of the rivers Mersey and Tame, a large part of Lancashire, as well as a small part of West Yorkshire. Visitors are most welcome!
