Theoretically, Manchester's main shopping street although it isn't really home to the best shopping opportunities. Pedestrianised about forty years ago. Unusual in that it's home to buskers, beggars, political commentators and street traders all trying to get the best spot. They're a strange collection, really. Shop rents are horrendous, so there are normally several vacant. Few remain long term. Parking is... More

If the Arndale Centre is a bit too anti-sceptic and Northern Quarter a little too alternative this link between Piccadilly Gardens and Deansgate might just be for you - beggars and evangelists, hawkers and teenagers with a massive Boots (with walk in GP) and yet with easy access to the Arndale and many specialist shops (such as those selling LP/DVDs)... It's busy almost all the time but that's cause it's full of great shops and access to the Arndale centre. There's also a few fast food places along there and most of the time there's street performers.

I have gone to Manchester to study, and I was in a homestay near Asda Hulme Superstore (on Princess Road). My school (Kaplan) is in front of Market Street. There you could find everything that you need, Electronic products, foods, clothes, etc.

This is a busty shopping street in the centre of Manchester. It is rather spoilt by the trams running along the centre of the street which make it feel very congested, and it also unfortunately attracts the usual beggars. On a west Saturday afternoon we did not particularly enjoy the experience.

I often shop here and its great when there is some performers on and the sun is out. Otherwise its mayhem. Go early to avoid the rush.

Hello readers. Hope you're all well. Me and my friends came here to do our shopping and as always shops and the arndale centre does not disappoint. The sales were amazing. We literally shopped till we dropped. We parked in the arndale centre car park. There are other car parks available but this suited our needs we had so many... More

This is a dirty, congested street with beggers in each door way. Bring some spare change as you may need it. Plenty of shops about and the Arndale Centre isn't too bad . Stay away from Piccadilly Gardens has unsavory people hanging about it. People friendly and will help if they can

Might have been a beacon of activity back in the days now just a high street with banks and shops except for a small market area on the back which is part of arndale centre with a fish monger butcher veg guy and eating area but nothing special or historic sad
