England has numerous abbeys and cathedrals still standing from the days when religion played a greater role in society and govt. Tewkesbury represents an excellent example of overstatement in design and engineering. The symmetry, space and perfect alignment of round columns and the arched ceilings...More

What a lovely church and so very warm and welcoming! Services are in the high church tradition but lovely music and accessible. Great architecture and two Tom Denny windows worth a look, plus the tomb of George Duke of Clarence.

Do I need a car to travel around the Cotswolds? We are planning to go from London and want to take a train to Bath and see Tewkesbury Abbey, if possible. We are planning to stay in Bath for a couple of nights as a base. Thank you.
