It's snobby but has no reason to be
Sep 2020 • Friends
Snobby golf club. Selling out a good club for housing plot. All about money. Bang next to the m3. No water anywhere on the course. Member going to Dummer which is far better anyway. They won't mix well with white van man. Tylney . Weybrook test Valley. Bishopswood all far better courses and not snobbish. The council should of stopped the sale of this course. I have no axe to grind review is based on how it is .

A fantastic course, well laid out and fair for all golfing abilities, the club house facilities are more than you need.

Travesty that this lovely course is going to disappear.
Sep 2019
The course is in beautifull condition and the greens quite fast. It is a travesty, that this land is being sold for housing! Tree spotters could have a lovely time looking at the many species. In the clubhouse food is truly excellent.

God's Waiting Room!
Oct 2017 • Friends
Basingstoke Golf Club classes it's self as the best Club in Basingstoke.......... I disagree!

From entering the pro shop you are not made very welcome. From being told off for wearing the wrong socks and no proper driving range!

The course is mature with the greens in superb condition, (probably the best in the area), but too many holes feel crammed in, also quite a few blind shots. Do not play this course when it's wet, as the drainage is terrible, plus they close their precious greens to protect them.

As for the Club House........No spike bar. Plus the atmosphere and clientele makes it feels like Gods Waiting Room!

Really really good.

I have been a visitor to Basingstoke Golf club for a number of years now.
I played here today, the 19 April 2018 and I have to say bearing in mind the winter we have just had with the heaviest rainfall for many a year, plus lots of frost and snow, that this course is in magnificent condition so early in the season. Beautifully manicured fairways with immaculate striping plus greens that were in the main super smooth made for a great round of golf.
If you are a member here then you are very lucky and be proud of what you have got because your team have turned out a great course compared to others I have recently visited
Also got to say the catering was very good with lovely choices and all very reasonably priced and very friendly staff.
I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Probably a very good club , but my treatment i cant say has been good .

I was thinking about joining , id spoken to a member . He said apply and see what occurs . I think there is a waiting list . I applied formally by post but Ive heard nothing from them . This is a up market private golf club and I would expect them to make contact . Even if it was to say they would not take me . Im told its being sold for a housing estate this might be why they are not taking any more members . It would be nice to be told .

Feb 2018 • Friends
Booked a lunch at Basingstoke Golf Club to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. They really could not have improved on the excellent welcome, hospitality, terrific food and service.

Right from when we first booked it, the team looked after our every need. Highly recommended.

Charity Golf Day
Mar 2017 • Friends
i would like to thank Basingstoke Golf Club and al of their staff for the way we were looked after during our visit. The course was beautifully presented and in wonderful condition considering the time of year and the neccessary spring renovation work being carried out. The food supplied to us for the day was without fault and among the very best that I have ever had at any club, made even better for the way we were looked after by all o the staff. Congratulations to you all.

Excellent carvery lunch
Feb 2017 • Couples
This is the venue for my husband's family get-together each year, as his brother is a member.
We always have the carvery lunch, which is excellent: my husband had the gammon and I had the beef, and the roasts are served with roast potatoes, roasted veg, sprouts, Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets.
Desserts included a rhubarb, pecan and sultana crumble, banoffee cheesecake and cheese and biscuits.
My husband had the crumble and I had the cheesecake and both were superb.
The meal ended with coffee/tea.
This is a lovely setting and it is good to look out of the big windows and watch the golfers.
The staff are always friendly and obliging.
A lovely occasion enjoyed by the whole family.
