It's been a few years since my last visit and it has changed so much! It's an absolute credit to the voulenteers and Thier hard graft, skill and vision. I can't wait to go again!

A must see museum very interesting with enthusiastic volunteers. This museum is a credit to the organisation in the way it had been Developed.

We visited the museum on Bank Holiday Monday & were lucky enough to see all the engines running. If you have an interest in the Industrial Revolution, this is the place to visit, with so many different steam engines to view & learn more about....More

This is one of the best museums around and its a pity it isn't open more often. The exhibits are great and in full working order. There are plenty of volunteers around all with plenty of knowledge. Its first class.More

Thanks very much for your kind comments. We do our best. We try to open a reasonable number of times each year but it costs about £300 per open day for the gas to make steam. If you wish us to open more often then...More

Thanks for your kind review. We are open. most bank holidays and on our steam days we can run all our 30 or so main engines. The models usually run on compressed air.

Actually all of our engines will work, they just need steam! Please ask for a particular engine to be started and if there is enough steam we will arrange it. It is just that raising steam for the more inefficient engines is quite expensive Glad...More

An excellent Museum for all ages. It has a vast range of static steam engines beautifully displayed. It is manned by friendly and informative volunteers. There are refreshments available & reasonably priced. Well worth a visit,

The museum is open in steam most bank holidays and every Sunday and Wednesday. When we are not in steam but will be happy to run some of the engines electrically.
