What a lovely church with lots of ancient carvings and beautiful stained windows. Recent renovations have revealed lovely unusual red and grey stonework similar to Moorish architecture found in Spain which make it a very attractive Church to visit. The elders of the church do...More

One of two amazing churches in Harrogate. This might be the lesser of the two but well worth a look around.

As one might expect in the relatively new town of Harrogate, St Peter’s only dates from 1876 when it was consecrated to meet the needs of the fast growing town. It is a rather splendid looking church and the view of the tall chancel arch,...More

Mildly interesting historic church in the town centre. We didn't stay long as the ambience was being totally destroyed by a guy using a very noisy hoover.

We attended sung Evensong here. There were about twenty of us in the congregation and around ten in the choir who sang sweetly. Apparently twenty years ago, the church was struggling but it has been turned round. I didn't have time to explore the architecture...More

St Peter's church is a fine victorian building which has been very tastefully modernised to serve the needs of a wde variety of people including breakfasts for the homeless, coffee mornings and activities for children.

Attractive Church of England place of worship built almost 150 years ago bang in the centre of Harrogate, we stepped in to light a candle, enjoy the interior and escape the fierce sun. Not a “don’t miss” but worth a visit nonetheless.

It was only built about 150 years ago. In the Norman style, with square tower added a few years later. Beautiful church, lovely interior with stained glass windows.
