Stopped here on a weekday on the way home from RHS Harlow Carr. Pleased to find it was free to get in. I'm not sure it would have been worth the entrance fee. Didn't see any deer so the walk around the lake was a...More

You can currently get into the gardens and park for free on a weekday. They are well set up and great to escape for a walk see the deer and relax. Do not forget to take in the walled garden and bees.

I don't remember too much walking, more standing around. The staff were very helpful I'm sure they'll provide chairs for sister. Enjoy😊

Sorry just seen this. If it's not too late, the tour takes a good hour and you don't need to book in advance. I would definitely recommend the tour to hear the fascinating history of the house.
