Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent most of our time looking at the organ being replaced. It was spellbinding. We still had time for prayers.

The Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption is a beautiful church situated in the centre of the village. It is very picturesque from the outside with a lovely fountain bubbling away opposite! The inside is peaceful as you would expect and frequently there are exhibitions in the room attached to the side of the church. These can be art exhibitions or historic ones and often free or demanding a modest fee.
From the church you can descend to the bridge into the village looking back on the right to Le Monastère a picturesque housing development and then turn continue so that on your left is the old Lavage where the people of old used to do their communal washing! Walk opposite and find the lake where there is access all round to walk. There is a quiet spot with seating and statue of Mary cut into the stone cliff. The walk around the lake is not all hard standing and can be difficult for disabled and wheel chair bound people. As you walk around you come to the base of
Vouvant and look up at the battlements seeing how difficult the aggressors of ole would have found accessing Vouvant would be! There is an arch and walkway back up to the streets of the village where if you turn left at the top you will make your way back to the centre of the village and of course the church. On finishing sightseeing make your way to one of the three cafes!

The church is at its best at night, when the floodlights show up the fantastic old gargoyles over the arched front doors. Inside the church is fairly small but beautiful. Part of the original building has been sectioned off for artists in the area to exhibit their work and is worth a visit all by itself. but the church is the central point of Vouvant, a beautiful Cité Medieveal

We visited this ancient church as part our our walk round this pretty village. It had two different video displays (both in French only) one in the main body of the church and the other in the part sunken crypt. Interesting history and architecture.

Stopped off to look at the art exhibitions and chose to visit the church first. Looks a bit odd, but the high altar is simply amazing and the crypt with its video show is worth a look.
