Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Basin View Seafood has consistently had the absolute best, freshest seafood on PEI. So much fresher than MR Seafoods or (yuck!) Doirons Seafood. Wonderful people (Mitch and Zach leap to mind). Who cares about their prices? They are the best and they are worth it!!

We camped near by at Twin Shores and visited this place multiple times. We bought lobster, crab, oysters and muscles. They have a variety of fresh seafood with some already cooked options like crab and lobster. The guys that work there are super friendly and fun to talk to. Great prices too! We visited this establishment on both our trips to PEI in 2014 and 2017 and will continue to stop in for our seafood needs when we visit PEI again.

Freshest seafood around if staying in Seaview area on the north shore of PEI. Great smoked fish, fresh oysters, clams, mussels, halibut, haddock & salmon too. The best cod I've had since we were here last in 2015. Service is very friendly! They also have garlic butter & seafood sauce. Don't bother buying fish at the Superstore or Kensington's fish market...this is much better! A must visit!

Came to Malpeque from 1,700 kilometres miles away to eat their oysters, world renowned. Yes, they were delicious and full of liquor, but I had to shuck them myself at the counter here because nobody there could or would. Not a fast shucker, don’t do it too often in Thornhill because they come already shucked, so imagine the embarrassment of shucking them on the counter as people are paying. (First disappointment). Then, the price was twice what I pay in Toronto. Cooked canners are $ 9 a pound in Toronto. Here they are $ 16. You can get oysters for $ 1 each in Toronto, here they are $ 2 (Second disappointment). I had to buy a shucker for $ 6 so I could shuck my oysters. They couldn’t provide me their own shucker after I told them I could not take it home as I was flying back. (Third disappointment). Finally, the attitude. It was a “no care”, “too bad for you” kind of attitude. (Fourth disappointment).

We recently spent a great week long family vacation in PEI and loved it but have to say that this place is there to rip off tourist who camp at Twin Shores. They were trying to charge 4 bucks for 99 cent seafood sauce you can buy at the store five minutes away and oysters were $2 a pop which is more than what you pay in Toronto. Lobster prices seem to be managed as we looked at several places and they were all 10-12/lb but you can get better deals on fish and oysters in town if you look around.

We rented a cottage close by and were advised to come here for fresh seafood. We picked up lobster, scallops and oysters for a homemade fresh fish feast. It was incredible. The fish is so fresh and reasonable priced. Next time, I plan to come here each night to buy fresh fish for supper. Great place!

Basin view seafood were selling Malpeque oysters at $2 each (same price as in Montreal) when Prince Edward Aqua Farm 5 km down the road at New London are selling the same oysters for $3 a half dozen. If you want oysters go to the latter.

We grabbed two lobster for a decent price. They didn’t have any scallops but the guy said that he had heard that they had some in the Kensington small grocery store. We later went into town and grabbed a package of reasonable priced scallops. Can almost taste them bacon wrapped lol. I will definitely go to Basin View again.
