Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

A great experience to play quite a unique golf club. It’s rough links style on the top of cliffs in Wicklow. Not easy. A challenging course that requires accuracy. Unfortunately we started in sunshine and ended with strong wind and driving rain. Almost impossible to play, especially since we did not know the course layout. That’s golf in Ireland. The staff kindly gave us a 9 hole rain check. We’ll be back to try this one again.

Played Wicklow golf club in August 24
With a small golf society in glorious weather. Very pleasant welcome from staff, fabulous golf course with amazing scenery. Greens are unreal and tough to read but fun to play. Whole course in great condition. We all enjoyed it. Club house had great food and service after our round. We look forward to a return visit.

Not an avid golfer but enjoyed this course tremendously. While some of the holes are close to each other, the course plays great as you don’t feel on top of each other. The course is hilly but the views are worth the walk (saw some seals with pups as you looked down the cliffs). The clubhouse is clean and the gentleman at the pro shop topped off our experience. He was extremely helpful and provided enough humor to start our round with a smile. Looking forward to coming back (USA)

What a wonderful experience!! 4 of us came over for a golf trip, Wicklow was our first stop. Not only is this one of the most scenic courses, the staff, especially the resident pro, Louise, is fabulous. One of our foursome had a faulty shaft on his driver, Louise, replaced it at a seriously good cost and brought it to him in the clubhouse. Additionally, this was our first stop after getting off the plane. The ground was saturated so no buggies were allowed. Wicklow is quite hilly and after 9 holes jet lag caught up to us so we stopped. Louise refunded us 15€ since we paid for 18. Thank you Louise for getting our trip off to a great start!!

What a wonderful golf course with stunning views. Extraordinary. Very interesting course but still playable. Greens and fairways were in very good shape.
But best of all are the people there. Extremely friendly and helpful. And that started with Louise at the pro shop, with Aidan, the Mens Captain, and the wonderful service at the restaurant. My wife and I played on Saturday April 10th as a 2 ball behind a tournament. So we had time to enjoy the breathtaking views and had the opportunity to meet a lot of golfers during the round and had so much fun. Everybody we met was friendly, helpful and ready to share a joke. We felt very welcome and loved the family atmosphere.
We’ll be back. For sure!

Probably played this in arguably the worst conditions (however, I'm not from Ireland so the sideways saturating rain, 40+km/hr winds and single digit temperatures are probably par for the course for this and many courses in Ireland) but had a fantastic time. The course is situated along the east coast of Ireland about 40 minutes or so south of Dublin. It is definitely more undulating than any of the photos I seen prior to playing had indicated which made the place even better! It isn't a long course at all really (just over 6000 yards), although I am used to playing 7000+ yard courses regularly. However, with the conditions, the course plays plenty tricky and there are plenty of blind shots and many holes that, while allowing the use of driver, really demand perfection unless you lay up. The views on this course of the Irish sea are breathtaking and the course (especially for February) was in great shape and for 25 euro, it was amazing value for the money. I definitely look forward to playing this course again (hopefully in better weather).

We were lured in by the massive windows and the views didn't disappoint........ "Glorious" is a word that comes to mind for the view of the golf course with the sea behind it that you look at through the panoramic windows!

The bar man and waitress who dealt with us were both lovely too.... And even went so far as to add a birthday candle to my partner's dessert after I mentioned off the cuff that we were celebrating it! We really appreciated her thoughtfulness on that!

The food was fine too!

I'll be back with more people next time!

A beautiful setting and challenging golf course with several holes on the Irish Sea. The clubhouse is welcoming with good beers and meals.

This recent June friends and I were traveling across Ireland by car and stumbled upon this gem. A beautiful cliff side golf course and clubhouse that is open to visitors. We went in for drinks and desert and what a treat with the most incredible view. I had the fresh Irish strawberries and crème and they may be the best I have ever had in my entire life. The staff was incredibly friendly and it was simply a great place to lean back, relax and enjoy the sea view. We did not golf but to me it looked like a golfers dream. Loved this place!!

After driving through the Wicklow Gap we stumbled upon this gem of a course. The scenery was spectacular, so I grabbed my clubs to get in nine. After 5 holes the skies opened up and that was it for the day. But some members (Aidan, Gabby and Kieran) where disappointed I saw so little of the course they arranged for my wife and I to come back and play the whole 18 2 days later. This time we had great fall weather and the overall experience was a big reason we enjoyed Ireland so much.
