Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I saw an ad for this tour on insta and I'm a big fan of glendalough but this seemed like a unique opportunity to see it in a different way. I booked to go alone and the tour group were lovely as were the guides. The opportunity to go and see Glendalough in daylight through to sunset, dusk and then darkness was amazing. You do need to be prepared for a hard slog....I've never hiked before so was able for this no problem but need to be prepared for uneven ground and concentration required esp towards the end as the ground becomes more uneven and the darkness has completely fallen. At one point towards the end I did wonder why I wanted to walk round in the dark when I couldn't see anything but when you get to the lakeshore and stop to take in the breathtaking view of the starry sky, its all worth it!! Absolutely cannot recommend this enough, would definitely do it again!

The idea of the night hike and the route chosen was really good. The historical and environmental information given by one of the leaders was interesting. However, the information about the challenge of the walk was not sufficient. It was 14k and 400metre elevation and we were only told this when we arrived. One if our group did not have enough experience and especially at night to manage this and became unwell. As there was only two leaders for a large group, there was insufficient contingency. When our friend had to leave the walk ,one of the leaders would have allowed her to return alone. I went back with her and the rest of our group continued. In fairness they thoroughly enjoyed the walk. However if the leaders had good mountain leader training they would have done more to ensure that people coming on the walk had the capacity for the challenge and there would have been a better contingency plan.
I would not recommend the company unless they put more emphasis is safety in the mountains.

Fantastic tour from start to finish with historic and nature facts along the way. Plenty of stops along the way for snacks and photos of the fantastic scenery

The Wicklow night hike is an amazing experience. The scenery and atmosphere set an unique experience.
The hike was a challenge but my group all felt amazing that we had completed it.
Our guides were very knowledgeable about the area and made the information interesting and funny.

Myself and my 16 year old son went on the night hike last night and have to say it was an amazing experience. The guide Reece is a fantastic guy and not only a skilled climber but also a brilliant history guide. He made it an amazing experience for us.
Hike took approx 5 hours and the group was about 20.
A diverse group of family, Couples and single individuals.
Very safe at all times and there was no pressure with the priority being safety first.
Will be doing another hike with these guys.

Want to hike the gorgeous Glendalough Valley while staying in the Dublin area without a car? This experience is the only bus tour that allows enough time to hike this spectacular part of the Wicklow Mountains.

The pickup/drop off was conveniently located at the Red Cow Luas Station (the red line Tram that runs east-west through Dublin).

As an avid hiker, I usually don't hike with a tour guide, but with a valley that is so steeped in history, I really appreciated having Mark as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the land and the rich history of the region.

I went on this tour with a group of 8 hikers with varying levels of experience. Mark did a fantastic job keeping the group together by going at a manageable pace and taking regular breaks to allow the slower hikers to catch up and take a breather.

I highly recommend this hike, just be prepared for Irish weather and dress in layers! During our 4 hours on the trail, we had hot sun, cloudy skies, drizzle, and steady rain with wind.

What an incredible hike. It was EXTREMELY difficult. I would consider it more than moderate level. BUT it was an awesome hike and I pushed my self harder than I ever have. Be sure to dress appropriately. I wore lined pants because I thought it would cool off after it rained and I was drenched in sweat.

The guides were knowledge and very helpful. Great hike!!

Thanks to Mark for a wonderful trip and knowledge filled experience in the Comeragh mountains. Mark was very organised and a pleasure to deal with and to be around for the duration of the trip. We would highly recommend this trip for those who enjoy a challenge in the mountains and want to get out and experience nature. This is the second time we have booked with Wild Summits and would not hesitate to do so again in the future. Best of luck to Mark and the Wild Summits team for their future adventures.
